New year brought the new president…

Many words were told, many tasks were completed during the first year of existence of the Art-Talkers club. Many events were happened and a lot of work was done. It was the year when all members of the club improved their public speaking and creative skills, and when many people contributed to the club success.
No doubt, without a leader who manages the work of the club, any progress can’t be so certain and effective. That is why every Toastmasters club has such a leader, the President, as prescribed by the Toastmasters General Rules. Yulia Usova, the first President of the “Art-Talkers” Toastmasters International Club, created a wonderful team of the club officers and managed the club work in the best possible way. So, thanks to Yulia, we are proud that we are the “Art-Talkers” members.
Though every member of our club wished Yulia to occupy her President’s position as longer time as possible, we should follow the Toastmasters rules, according to which a new President should be elected every year. That is why, on January 20, Yulia passed her duties to the new President, and now we are glad to announce that our new Leader and President is Lyudmyla Povaliy, UUPN active member and PR expert, who has got two awards at the Toastmasters International Autumn Ball 2006 in Kyiv and became the first place winner of the “Art-Talkers” Club contest 2006.
Let’s wish our leaders that they have new opportunities, new possibilities and success in everything they do, and let’s wish ourselves that we properly appreciate their efforts and that we help them, because “Giving something to people, you’ll receive even more”.

Art-Talkers is a little child…

     But how bright he is!
Though it was raining since early morning, January 13 Art-Talkers members didn’t stay at their homes but came to the meeting with great expectations: TM Club celebrated its first birthday.
Despite the rainy weather the atmosphere in the Club was sunny and friendly – with smiles, laugh and sincere greetings. President Yulia Usova who organized Art-Talkers a year ago, inspired the audience to go forward in improving public speaking and leadership skills. Keeping a pine-apple tart with a candle Toastmaster Lyudmyla Povaliy sang “Happy Birthday, Art-Talkers!”.
As a person who is fond of photography Roman Isakov presented his speech “The Birth of Photo”. To prove his hobby he demonstrated mini-exhibition of pictures.

Creative Olga Pogorelova prepared unexpected surprise – it was performance dedicated to Art-Talkers birthday. The actors-muses who came to the meeting from ancient Greek, were not professionals but Art-Talkers members. And they brilliantly played the roles of muses – epic poetry and science, heroic poetry and history, astronomy and astrology, tragedy, lyric poetry and song, love and erotic poetry, comedy and idyllic poetry, sacred poetry, agriculture and pantomime, dance and dramatic chorus. The actors dedicated their presentations to Art-talkers members who are true friends of the Club and involved the audience into the performance. It was great!
Then we applauded to Yulia who received the certificate from TM headquarters in Washigton D.C. for successful completion of 10 projects. Well done, Yulia!
Victor Fursov made exclusive fragments of the anniversary on his digital camera and that will be the history of the Club.
Those who ordered yellow T-shirts with Club’s emblem will wear them with pride.
An hour later, sitting in a café, Art-Talkers shared their ideas about new events for 2007.

New Year with Snow-girl and Father Frost

If you think that New Year exists only for children, you’re mistaken. Art-Talkers celebrated that fabulous evening in the childish manner: with extraordinary costumes, songs and poems, contests and plays. The atmosphere in the café was so warm and sweet that no one noticed that we spent five hours there.

Yulia and Roman

People say: “If you spend New Year with your friends, you will be happy!”
I should say, it’s true. We were sincere telling about new friends whom we met in the Club. Sergey Plyasov conducted the brain-ring “What? Where? When?”.

Jane Kokhan prepared games and competitions with proverbs. Maria Kapustian made unusual interpretation of the songs and we laughed a lot as they were really funny. Snow-girl (Yulia Usova) and Father Frost (Roman Kiselyov) wished all of us happiness and luck in 2007.

If you look through the pictures made during the evening party, you’ll be sure that Art-Talkers is a unique family where there is Love, Respect, Hope and Will.
